Submission to the Review of the Planning Act
Our submission to the review of the Environmental Planning and Assessment (EP&A) Act recommends:
Make housing affordability the primary objective of the Act
Automatically enforce housing targets
Rezone for apartments in areas well-served by public transport
Strip back, simplify and clarify heritage controls
Radically simplify zones and permitted uses
Simplify height and density controls
Abolish local DCPs
Change ‘deemed refused’ to ‘deemed approved’
Determine applications with truly independent panels with no connection to council
Exempt Aboriginal Land Councils and government organisations from all planning controls.
