Willoughby Council’s Heritage Restrictions

On 16 February, Willoughby Council conducted a public forum to discuss proposed heritage restrictions, including a heritage conservation area that would put half of Naremburn off-limits to new housing.

15 speakers from Sydney YIMBY and the local area opposed the proposal. There were no speakers in favour.

We live-tweeted the forum here: https://x.com/SydneyYIMBY/status/2023292151791317145

Discussion of the heritage report is from 18:50 to 1:10:30 of the video.

On 23 February, Willoughby Council voted 10 to 3 in favour of the Heritage Conservation Area. Very disappointing.
